My sweet girl Mackenzie has struggled with severe digestion issues and weight gain since infancy. In late 2012 we finally got an answer to our years of questions and frustrations. We discovered that she has an allergy to gluten and while we haven't had her tested, we strongly suspect she has Celiac Disease. This was a discovery that changed our life.
At first, making the transition to be exclusively GF (gluten free) was difficult. It was overwhelming and we didn't have many friends going through our same experience. For this reason part of why I blog is out of a desire to be a support for other mommas who are walking my same road and fighting the same allergy fight that we have.
I've started a blog series highlighting a new gluten free child each week. It is through this series that I hope we can connect other parents who are searching for answers for the health of their child and I'm hopeful that this might be a way to connect with other allergy conscious families!
