The Candy Fairy

Hi Friends,

Happy Post Halloween Hangover Day... and also Happy Unhappy Daylight Savings Day. 

We were woken up at 5:20 AM by a little guy screaming, "Wheerree's myyy candyyyy?"  I would love to know the name of the fool that thought Halloween should coincide with Daylight Savings Time this year.  I curse him.

All I can say is, "Wheeerree's myyy cofffeee?" Anyone else with me?

Thought I would share one of our favorite post Halloween traditions today.  While nannying in Chicago years ago I was introduced to the Candy Fairy. 

The Candy Fairy is invisible and super sweet and she flies in magically the night after Halloween...its not too late... tonight still counts! She trades the kid's sugar laced candy for a family board game or a small toy.  The size of the prize is based on how much of the kid's candy loot they choose to leave out. 

Regardless of whether the Candy Fairy chooses to stash it away for herself (no judgement!) or feed it to the neighborhood squirrels (please don't!) ... the candy is magically removed from the grips of our little tyrants. 

And the world is all a better place.
